Contemporary romance novels have always held a special place in my heart. I always find myself gravitating to those when I need an easy stress- relieving read. They are always the fastest and easiest reads to fill spaces when I don't have a lot of time. I'm going to highlight some of my favorite contemporary novels as well as some authors that I always go for. So in no particular order here are some memorable romance books I have read.

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna and the French Kiss- Stephanie Perkins

This book was probably one of the first contemporary romances that I ever read and also introduced me to the world of romance books. I can so vividly remember exactly where I was when I read this and what was going on at the time. Although I'm sure I would have a different opinion now if I reread it, this book still holds a special place in my heart. It contains romance, drama, and of course studying abroad in France, all the best things in a romance.

2. What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

What If It's Us- Becky Albertalli, Adam Silvera

Both of these authors are fantastic at writing romance and I have read every book by each of them. When I found out that they were coming out with a book together, I preordered it right away. This book among all of their others did not disappoint. It is the perfect love story between two boys in their summer before college. If you don't read any of their other books (which you should) make it this one!

Other books I love by them:

They Both Die in the End- Silvera

History is All You Left Me- Silvera

Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda- Albertalli

3. Again, but Better by Christine Riccio

Again, but Better- Christine Riccio

I started following Christine on her YouTube channel so I could stay up to date on recent releases and reviews of books. Little did I know that she would soon have a book out herself. This book is an amazing debut novel and deserves all of the praise it is receiving. It also includes an element of travel which is one of the most intriguing qualities about a book for me. Definitely was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did.

4. Call me by Your Name by Andre Aciman

Call me by Your Name- Andre Aciman

First off, if you haven't seen the movie by now what are you doing? But in all seriousness this book was beautiful, I loved every minute of it. I read it while I was on vacation and it was perfect. The imagery and description within the novel was fantastic. Also, the casting choices for the movie were exactly as I had pictured them to be which is always a plus. I recommend reading this in the spring or summer definitely feels appropriate for that season but honestly reading this at any time would still be phenomenal.

6. Meet Cute by multiple authors

Meet Cute- multiple authors

This book is a collection of short stories written by many of your favorite contemporary YA authors. Each story contains a meet cute which is when the characters meet in a cute way leading to the build of a relationship between them. This book is extremely easy and fast to read while also being very fun. It would be perfect to read on a long car or plane ride!

Those are just some of the many contemporary romance novels that I have read. There are so many more I wish I could name but that would take days to come up with. Hopefully you found something you had not read before and are interested in!
